When I first discovered manifestation, I wanted to try everything.
I made vision boards, repeated affirmations all day every day, scripted every morning, listened to subliminal audios while I slept, did the 369 Method, wrote gratitude lists, meditated, visualized my dream life, and probably saved hundreds of manifestation videos on TikTok. The list is honestly endless.
Some of these practices made me feel amazing, but others felt like I was checking boxes, hoping one of them would magically change my life.
Eventually, I realized something that completely shifted my perspective:
The technique itself isn’t what creates results.
That realization changed everything.
The Technique That Actually Worked

If I had to choose one manifestation practice that has had the biggest impact on my life, it wouldn’t be a trendy ritual. The most effective way to get everything I wanted was by embodying the person I wanted to become.
Instead of constantly asking,
How do I manifest this?
I started asking,
What would the future version of me do?
That simple question influenced almost every area of my life.
Would she keep procrastinating? Probably not.
Would she speak kindly to herself? Absolutely.
Would she invest time in learning new skills? Yes.
Would she keep waiting for permission to chase her dreams? Definitely not.
To my delight, the more I practiced becoming that version of myself, the more opportunities seemed to appear.
Why I Think This Works

Our brains are constantly looking for evidence to support our beliefs.
When you start identifying as someone who is capable, resilient, and deserving of success, your brain will start noticing opportunities that align with that identity. It’s a subtle shift that’s incredibly powerful.
Instead of focusing on what I lacked, I naturally started taking actions that moved me closer to the life I wanted.
One habit that really helped was journaling from my future self’s perspective. I’d write about my day in the present tense, as if my goals had already happened. It helped when I focused on how I felt instead of obsessing over every little detail about how it would happen.
Small Habits Create Big Changes

I also realized that becoming my future self meant taking care of the version of me that exists today.
That looked like prioritizing quality sleep and nourishing my body with foods that made me feel energized. It’s also so healing just moving my body because it felt good, not because I felt like I had to. Taking care of future me also meant making time for creativity and choosing progress over perfection.
Supporting my health became part of my manifestation practice. One wellness product I’ve enjoyed adding to my routine is California Gold Nutrition Magnesium Bisglycinate from iHerb (Use Code IHERBSUMMER), because it helps me prioritize relaxation and my overall well-being on busy days.
Your Environment Shapes Your Mindset

One thing I underestimated was how much my surroundings influenced my thoughts.
When my workspace felt calm, organized, and inspiring, I found it easier to focus on creating content, writing, making art, and working toward my goals.
You don’t need an expensive makeover to create an abundant atmosphere. Even adding a cozy reading chair, warm lighting, or a beautiful bookshelf or desk organizer can completely change how a space feels.
Stop Waiting for Life to Begin

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to wait until you’ve manifested everything to enjoy your life.
Some of my happiest memories I have come from simple experiences like taking a spontaneous weekend trip with the love of my life, exploring a new city with my besties, or spending time in nature. Browsing destinations on Expedia often reminds me that there are incredible adventures waiting for me, and sometimes planning a getaway is all the motivation I need to keep working toward my goals.
And whenever I feel stuck in my head, I move.
Sometimes that’s a walk outside or it’s dancing around my apartment or practicing with my ForeverFloww Flow Star (Use Code KIND111), which helps me get out of overthinking mode and back into the present moment.
The Real Secret

If there’s one thing I wish someone had told me when I started my manifestation journey, it’s this:
Your daily identity matters more than your favorite manifestation technique.
The affirmations, vision boards, journaling, meditation—they’re all wonderful tools, but they’re most powerful when they help you become someone who believes in themselves enough to take action.
Manifestation isn’t about finding the perfect technique. It’s about becoming the person who naturally creates the life they’re dreaming of. And in my experience, that has made all the difference.
